Batesville-Taylor Creek-Ennis Mountain (30, Casual Riders/D, H). No drop

June 25 @ 8:00 am

Everyone,

Let’s modify the club ride to suit our needs as we wish: we can take out 10 miles (or not). We will just plan to ride at our pace. This will be a no drop ride. We will have wheels down at 8:05 so please arrive a little earlier. The regular club ride will leave at 8am.

We will meet at the Crossroads store and park in the area closest to the firehouse.

Route description: From the Crossroads Store, this moderately hilly ride heads northwest to Batesville then southwest on Craigs Store Road. The next stretch is an out-and-back along Taylor Creek for 5 miles to the scenic town of Heards (TAKE THAT OUT). The route retraces its steps back to Ennis Mountain Road for a moderate, shady climb over Ennis Mountain to Batesville Road, then back to Batesville and the Crossroads Store.

Route link with the 40 mile total, we plan to do 30:

As always, please let us know in the comments if you would like to come. And check the comments in case we are not sure about the weather.

And you know there is a fabulous pizza place there called Doctor Ho’s. They have outdoor tables but it may be too hot by the time we come back, let’s see.

NOTE: As of 01/01/2022, we have become a member-supported club.  We encourage all of our cycling friends to join us.  For new riders, our club insurance covers non-members of the club for their first ride only.  Thanks.

As we head into Spring 2022, we are planning additional rides each week, so stay tuned!  If you are interested in helping to organize a group ride for the Club, please contact us!

For details on how group rides are categorized, check out the Ride Classification guidelines.

Requirements For Riders

All riders are required to have a helmet; a tail light, Road ID and a rear-view mirror is strongly recommended.  You are also expected to have adequate fluids and a road-worthy bicycle in good repair.  Many rides, but not all, will include the opportunity to stop at a store to replenish supplies.

You should be prepared to fix a flat tire and perform other minor repairs on the road side.  If you are new to cycling and are not comfortable with these procedures, don’t let that stop you.  However, you might want to talk to a more experienced member before the ride so the group is prepared to help if necessary.

Safety On The Road

The club considers safety to be our very highest priority.  Please review the information on the Safety Page before you join us for a ride.

We hope that you will find this site helpful; your questions and comments are welcomed.
