Father’s Day Ride, (20 no drop, 30 option, Casual Riders/D, MF)

June 19 @ 9:00 am

Ride with your father, in honor of your father, or just ride!

This is a mostly flat ride in open country. It is not recommended for children who do not know how to ride on a road. Anyone else is welcome!

We are offering two options, either 20 miles (out and back, no drop), or the 30 mile option.

Route Link for the 20 mile option (out and back, no drop):

There is a country store at the turn-around point for the out and back. Does anyone know if they are open on Sundays in case we need some bribing of young ones? Please let us know in the comments.

Route Link for the 30 mile option:

Please let us know in the comments if you would like to come. And please keep an eye on the comments before you ride in case we don’t like the weather. This ride would not be pleasant in case of high winds for example.

I am interested in doing the 20 mile option. At least according to their websites, unfortunately Troy Market is closed on Sundays, and the ice cream stand does not open until noon (or 1PM from another source).

NOTE: As of 01/01/2022, we have become a member-supported club.  We encourage all of our cycling friends to join us.  For new riders, our club insurance covers non-members of the club for their first ride only.  Thanks.

We are planning additional rides each week, so stay tuned!  If you are interested in helping to organize a group ride for the Club, please contact us!

For details on how group rides are categorized, check out the Ride Classification guidelines.

Requirements For Riders

All riders are required to have a helmet; a tail light, Road ID and a rear-view mirror is strongly recommended.  You are also expected to have adequate fluids and a road-worthy bicycle in good repair.  Many rides, but not all, will include the opportunity to stop at a store to replenish supplies.

You should be prepared to fix a flat tire and perform other minor repairs on the road side.  If you are new to cycling and are not comfortable with these procedures, don’t let that stop you.  However, you might want to talk to a more experienced member before the ride so the group is prepared to help if necessary.

Safety On The Road

The club considers safety to be our very highest priority.  Please review the information on the Safety Page before you join us for a ride.

We hope that you will find this site helpful; your questions and comments are welcomed.

Here is the regional map of Starting Points page.

Two options, please post to our Facebook Group or contact us.
