Social Ride, Sugar Hollow (9, Casual Riders, MF)

June 2 @ 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

If you have time to meetup after work in one of the best kept secrets of the area, the Sugar Hollow valley, come join us.

Ride link: https://www.charlottesvillebicycleclub.org/sugar-hollow/

You probably know that our starting point is almost at Stinson Vineyards. So if some of us need to stop for refreshment on the way back, before making the few hundred feet back to the car, it would be perfectly understandable. Or maybe our ear will catch the music as we zip back down the hill and we just won’t be able to resist… The vineyard will be open and will have live music but no food, I plan on bringing snacks. They have grills but I won’t be that ambitious, I’ll be coming straight from work.

Check them out here: https://stinsonvineyards.com/

Hope to see you there, for the ride, the music, or possibly the wine… I only vouch for the ride. ūüôā

Please let us know in the comments if you would like to join, and please check the comments section before the ride if the weather looks questionable. THank you!

NOTE: As of 01/01/2022, we have become a member-supported club.  We encourage all of our cycling friends to join us.  For new riders, our club insurance covers non-members of the club for their first ride only.  Thanks.

We are planning additional rides each week, so stay tuned!  If you are interested in helping to organize a group ride for the Club, please contact us!

For details on how group rides are categorized, check out the Ride Classification guidelines.

Requirements For Riders

All riders are required to have a helmet; a tail light, Road ID and a rear-view mirror is strongly recommended.  You are also expected to have adequate fluids and a road-worthy bicycle in good repair.  Many rides, but not all, will include the opportunity to stop at a store to replenish supplies.

You should be prepared to fix a flat tire and perform other minor repairs on the road side.  If you are new to cycling and are not comfortable with these procedures, don’t let that stop you.  However, you might want to talk to a more experienced member before the ride so the group is prepared to help if necessary.

Safety On The Road

The club considers safety to be our very highest priority.  Please review the information on the Safety Page before you join us for a ride.

We hope that you will find this site helpful; your questions and comments are welcomed.
